The “2026 Republic of China Autumn Memorial Ceremony for Martyrs and Personnel Who Died in the Line of Duty ” was solemnly held this morning at the National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine in Yuanshan, Taipei. President Lai Ching-te served as chief officiant, with Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim and Premier Cho Jung-tai serving as co-officiants.
Accompanied by Secretary-General to the President Pan Men-an and National Security Council Secretary-General Joseph Wu, President Lai arrived at the shrine to the strains of Ruffles and Flourishes. As the ceremony began, bells and drums sounded. After the chief officiant, co-officiants, and other ceremony participants had taken their places, the national anthem was played. President Lai then presented flowers before the spirit tablets of the revolutionary martyrs. Following the reading of the memorial address, President Lai led the co-officiants and other ceremony participants in three bows. After the solemn ceremony, the President greeted and shook hands with representatives of the bereaved families of martyrs.
